    • Course Description

Every great story has a great beginning. Many Christians know of the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:29-37), but some may not know the setup to one of the greatest lessons of Jesus. The whole story of the Good Samaritan starts when a "scholar of the law" asks Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Jesus' reply leaves us contemplating for 2000 years.

The St. Martin de Porres National Shrine & Institute proudly offers this study on the question, "And who is my neighbor?" Using the framework of moral theology, we will discuss in our classes how theology can help us see and help our neighbors. Whether your "neighbor" is on the street or in your home, this class will provide the space and opportunity to listen and learn from theologians and priests from across the nation. Our goal is to help you not only to see your neighbor but also to develop the skills to help all your neighbors in need.
